Description

A quick and creamy beer cheese dip perfect for parties or cozy nights in, served warm with pretzels or chips.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup beer (lager or ale)
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Sprinkle in the flour and whisk to combine, cooking for about 1 minute until bubbly.
  3. Slowly add the beer while continuing to whisk until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. Add the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  6. Serve warm with pretzels or tortilla chips.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting. Feel free to adjust flavors by adding spices or experimenting with different cheeses.
