Description

A simple and customizable recipe for homemade mayonnaise that elevates your dishes with fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar or lemon juice
  • 1 cup neutral oil (like canola or vegetable oil)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a tall container, combine the egg, Dijon mustard, and vinegar (or lemon juice).
  2. Use an immersion blender to blend the ingredients together until smooth.
  3. Slowly drizzle in the oil while continuing to blend until the mayonnaise thickens.
  4. Add salt to taste, and blend again briefly.
  5. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

Ensure your egg is at room temperature for better emulsification. If the mayo doesn’t thicken, try adding a little more oil slowly while blending.
