- 8 slices of bread
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Butter for cooking
- Maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture on 4 slices of bread and top with the remaining slices to make sandwiches.
- In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and cinnamon.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt a bit of butter.
- Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, coating both sides, then place in the skillet.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Serve warm with maple syrup.
Notes
Opt for day-old bread for better absorption. Feel free to add crushed nuts or granola for crunch.
