- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the bananas by mashing them in a large bowl until smooth.
- Combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and milk with the bananas.
- Activate the yeast by sprinkling it over the mixture and letting it sit for 5 minutes.
- Form the dough by gradually adding flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- First rise the dough in a greased bowl, covered, for about 1 hour until doubled.
- Prepare the cinnamon sugar filling by mixing brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log from one edge.
- Slice the log into equal pieces, about 1-2 inches thick, and place in a greased baking dish.
- Second rise the rolls covered with a towel for about 30 minutes.
- Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly and frost with your favorite frosting.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for maximum flavor. Ensure your yeast is fresh for the best rise.
