Description

A delightful cake featuring warm bananas, sweet caramel, and a hint of cinnamon, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon until dissolved.
  3. Pour the butter-sugar mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Slice the bananas and arrange them over the sugar mixture. Optional: sprinkle with pecans.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  6. Pour the cake batter over the bananas in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before inverting onto a serving plate.

Notes

Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to a week.
