Description
Delightful crispy shrimp bites coated in breadcrumbs and served with a zesty, spicy mayonnaise sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, lime juice, and season with salt and pepper. Set aside the sauce.
- In a shallow bowl, place cornstarch. In another bowl, keep your beaten egg ready. In a third bowl, pour out the breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each shrimp in cornstarch, shake off excess, dip in beaten egg, and roll in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add shrimp and fry until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove shrimp and let them drain on paper towels. Serve with the zesty sauce for dipping.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute Greek yogurt for the sauce or use panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch.
