Description

Deliciously soft and flaky cinnamon rolls filled with fresh blackberries, perfect for a warm and comforting treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a small baking dish to prevent the rolls from sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
  3. Add the softened butter and milk into the dry mix. Mix until a dough begins to form.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
  5. Spread fresh blackberries over the surface of the rolled-out dough.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar and a dash more cinnamon over the blackberries.
  7. Carefully roll the dough tightly from one end to the other, forming a log.
  8. Place the rolls cut-side up in the prepared baking dish, making sure they have space.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. For an extra touch, drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and milk once cooled slightly.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. Reheat before serving.
