Description
Delicious Brown Butter Cinnamon Rolls infused with rich, nutty brown butter and warm spices, perfect for a cozy brunch or special occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (brown butter, melted)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, melted brown butter, salt, and eggs. Gradually stir in the yeast mixture until thoroughly mixed.
- Add the flour one cup at a time until a soft dough begins to form.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
- Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise until it has doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- After the dough has risen, roll it out into a large rectangle. Spread a generous layer of browned butter on top, and sprinkle cinnamon and granulated sugar evenly.
- Starting at one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log shape. Cut the log into equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the cut rolls and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with milk to create a smooth icing and drizzle over the warm rolls before serving.
Notes
Ensure yeast is fresh for proper rising. Allow adequate rising time for fluffy rolls.
