Description

A classic Buttercream Cake that brings warmth and sweetness to any celebration, perfect for creative decorating.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • Buttercream frosting (for decorating)
  • Food coloring (optional for floral patterns and bold themes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, and include the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl, and gradually add to the creamed mixture alternating with the milk.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Frost each layer with buttercream frosting and decorate as desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
