Description

Delightful tarts filled with sharp cheddar cheese and sweet, juicy pineapple, encased in flaky puff pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the sheet of puff pastry to a thin layer and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
  3. In a bowl, combine the shredded cheddar, drained crushed pineapple, and chopped green onions. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Place a spoonful of the filling in each pastry square and fold the corners up to seal.
  5. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Ensure pineapple is well-drained to avoid soggy tarts. Can substitute cheddar with gouda or pepper jack cheese for extra flavor.
