Description
A nostalgic fusion of cheeseburgers and cheesy pasta that comes together in just 30 minutes, perfect for the whole family.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 12 oz rotini or any pasta of choice
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for browning beef)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rotini and cook according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil if needed. Brown the ground beef with diced onion and minced garlic until the beef is fully cooked and the onions are softened. Drain any excess fat.
- Create the Flavorful Sauce: Add the tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder to the beef mixture. Stir to combine and simmer on low heat for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Mix the cooked pasta into the beef sauce, stirring until the pasta is fully coated.
- Melt the Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top, cover the skillet, and let it sit for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts. For a golden, bubbly cheese top, place the skillet under the broiler for a few minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy!: Serve hot and enjoy every cheesy, savory bite!
Notes
Pairs beautifully with a crisp side salad or buttery garlic bread. Add a sprinkle of fresh parsley or chives for freshness.
