Description
A delightful dish combining succulent chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese wrapped in a golden breadcrumb coating.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices of ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup cream or white wine for sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Generously season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Place a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast.
- Carefully roll the chicken tightly, securing the ends with toothpicks if necessary.
- Dredge each rolled chicken piece in flour, dip them into the beaten eggs, and then coat them with breadcrumbs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken rolls and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
- In the same skillet, add cream or wine and simmer for a few minutes.
- Serve the chicken rolls with the creamy sauce drizzled on top, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Ensure even pounding of chicken breasts for consistent cooking. Experiment with different cheeses or ham types for variety.
