Description

A cozy recipe that combines the robust flavors of Chicken Marsala with the comforting texture of orzo pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Marsala wine
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add to the skillet. Cook until golden brown on both sides and fully cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms to the same skillet and sauté until browned, stirring to ensure caramelization.
  3. Pour in the Marsala wine and let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly reduced.
  4. Add orzo and chicken broth, stirring gently to combine. Cover and cook until tender, about 10-12 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Always taste and adjust seasoning. If you don’t have Marsala wine, dry cooking sherry or white wine can be a substitute.
