Description

A decadent cheesecake combining rich chocolate flavors with refreshing orange zest.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. Combine the chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter in a mixing bowl.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a springform pan to form a sturdy crust.
  4. Beat the cream cheese until smooth, then gradually add the granulated sugar.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract, then add the eggs one at a time.
  6. Add the sour cream, orange zest, and orange juice, mixing until smooth.
  7. Pour the cheesecake filling over the prepared crust.
  8. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  9. Cool the cheesecake completely at room temperature.
  10. Chill the cheesecake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  11. Cover the cooled cheesecake with chocolate ganache before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for a smooth filling. Line the bottom of the springform pan with parchment paper for easier release.
