Description

A delicious and comforting Philly Cheesesteak sandwich made with sizzling beef, caramelized onions, and gooey provolone cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 slices of provolone cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Cook sliced beef in a separate pan over medium-high heat until browned, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Combine the beef with the sautéed onions in the skillet.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Split the hoagie rolls and fill each with the beef and onion mixture.
  7. Top each sandwich with a slice of provolone cheese.
  8. Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the rolls are toasted.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the beef slices before cooking. You can also use different cheeses or add spicy peppers for a kick.
