Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and softened butter until smooth.
- Beat in one large egg and the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the sour cream, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans if using.
- Scoop out portions of dough and place them onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
- Sprinkle each cookie with cinnamon sugar.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
