A comforting and flavorful pasta dish featuring pappardelle, Italian sausage, and a creamy Calabrian chili sauce.

- 8 oz pappardelle pasta
- 2 tbsp Calabrian chili paste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz Italian sausage
- 1 fennel bulb, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pappardelle pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped garlic and sliced fennel, and sauté until softened.
- Add the Italian sausage to the skillet, breaking it apart and cooking until browned.
- Stir in Calabrian chili paste and heavy cream, allowing the sauce to simmer and thicken.
- Add the cooked pappardelle to the skillet, tossing to coat the noodles in the creamy sauce.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute Italian sausage with turkey or chicken sausage. Can also use whole wheat pappardelle for added fiber.
