Description
A luxurious and comforting seafood bisque made with crab and shrimp in a creamy broth.
Ingredients

- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb lump crab meat
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 3 cups seafood or chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup white wine (optional)
- 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Sauté the onion and garlic in a large pot with melted butter over medium heat until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Create the roux by sprinkling in the flour and cooking for another 2-3 minutes until light golden.
- Add the seafood or chicken broth and optional white wine, bringing to a gentle simmer.
- Season with Old Bay seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper, letting it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Incorporate heavy cream and simmer for another 5-7 minutes until thick and creamy.
- Add the shrimp and crab meat, cooking until the shrimp turns pink, about 5 minutes.
- Garnish and serve in bowls with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Serve with crusty bread or a light salad. Pairs beautifully with a chilled glass of white wine.
