Description

A comforting and creamy pasta dish with a kick from pepper jack cheese, combining tender chicken and smoky sausage.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups pepper jack cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced sausage to the skillet and continue cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream, sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Allow to simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Gradually add the pepper jack cheese, stirring constantly until melted into a creamy sauce.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to combine. Reheat for another 2 minutes if necessary.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half and use less cheese. Add spinach or kale for extra greens.
