Description

Delicious and crunchy onion ring bites, perfect for snacking or as a delightful side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk)
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions into thick rings, about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each onion ring into the buttermilk, ensuring complete coverage.
  4. Coat each ring in the flour mixture, tapping off excess flour.
  5. Transfer the rings to the breadcrumbs and coat well.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  7. Fry the onion rings in batches for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with dipping sauces.

Notes

For a healthier option, these onion rings can be baked instead of fried. Adjust seasonings to your preference for added flavor.
