Description

A comforting and effortless take on lasagna made with ravioli, simmered to perfection in a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450g) ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces (680g) marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 25 ounces (710g) frozen cheese ravioli (do not thaw)
  • 2 cups (200g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the meat in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Create the meat sauce by stirring in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt, and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Prepare the slow cooker by lightly greasing the inside.
  5. Layer a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  6. Add half of the frozen ravioli in an even layer over the sauce, followed by half of the remaining meat sauce and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat the layers with the second half of ravioli, sauce, and cheese, topping with grated Parmesan cheese.
  8. Slow cook on low for 3-4 hours until ravioli are tender and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Rest the lasagna for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Serve with fresh parsley garnish if desired.

Notes

For best results, don’t skip the browning step and feel free to experiment with different cheeses or add vegetables.
