Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup poppy seeds
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Allow it to sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- Pour the yeast mixture into the butter mixture and stir to combine. Gradually add the flour and salt, kneading until a smooth dough forms.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Roll the dough onto a floured surface and spread poppy seeds evenly over it. Roll it up tightly.
- Slice the rolled dough into equal pieces and place on a prepared baking sheet.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow the rolls to cool before serving.
Notes
Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or freeze for up to a month.
