Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup date molasses
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Cream the softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the date molasses and vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool before serving.
