Description

Quick and delightful caramelized banana slices perfect for pancakes or as a standalone treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • Optional: A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Optional: A tiny splash of vanilla extract
  • Optional: A tiny pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Slice the bananas into even rounds, about half an inch thick.
  2. Melt the butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat until it foams and turns golden.
  3. Add the sugar to the melted butter, stirring to combine.
  4. Sauté the banana slices in a single layer, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Sprinkle in the optional cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
  6. Finish with a splash of vanilla extract off the heat.
  7. Serve the caramelized banana slices warm over pancakes or ice cream.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
