Description

A heartwarming Easy Moist Date Cake that combines the natural sweetness of dates with cinnamon for a delightful dessert experience.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Mix the chopped dates with baking soda, then pour the boiling water over them and let it sit for about 10 minutes.
  3. Cream the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually stir in the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  6. Fold the soaked date mixture into the batter until well combined.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and level the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
