- 1 cup Medjool dates, pitted
- 1/2 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts (like walnuts or almonds)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- In a food processor, blend the pitted dates until they form a sticky paste.
- Add the tahini, cocoa powder, maple syrup (or honey), and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the date mixture with the rolled oats, chopped nuts, and a pinch of salt.
- Press the mixture into a lined square baking dish evenly.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into squares.
- Cut them up, serve, and indulge in this wonderfully rich yet healthy snack!
Notes
These squares can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week or frozen for up to 3 months.
