- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
- 1 can (10.5 oz) beef consommé
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
- Add the French onion soup, beef consommé, rice, and water to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover; let it simmer for 15 minutes.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
- Add shredded cheese on top if desired.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
