Ingredients

- 1 pound strawberries, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 package (10 ounces) angel food cake, cut into cubes
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup vanilla pudding (prepared)
- Optional: mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and sugar; let sit for about 30 minutes to draw out juices.
- In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- In a trifle dish or individual glasses, layer half of the angel food cake cubes at the bottom.
- Spoon half of the vanilla pudding over the cake, followed by half of the whipped cream mixture, and then half of the strawberries.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients (cake, pudding, whipped cream, and strawberries).
- Garnish with mint leaves if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
