- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp white vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together gluten-free flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar, mixing well.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Pour the batter evenly into prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Frost with cream cheese frosting and enjoy!
