Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Puff Pastry: Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut them into 4×4 inch squares.
- Mix the Cherry Filling: Combine cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
- Fill the Pastries: Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold and Seal: Fold pastry over into a triangle and seal edges with a fork.
- Brush with Egg Wash: Brush the tops of each turnover with beaten egg.
- Bake Until Golden: Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
- Cool and Dust: Let cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
