Description

A decadent dessert featuring layers of dark, milk, and white chocolate mousses, perfect for impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup milk chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup white chocolate, finely chopped
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 6 large egg whites
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water. Stir occasionally until smooth. Once melted, allow to cool slightly.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream to soft peaks. Gently fold this whipped cream into the cooled dark chocolate mixture until well combined.
  3. In another heatproof bowl, melt the milk chocolate using the same method. Stir until smooth, then allow to cool.
  4. Whip another cup of heavy cream to soft peaks and carefully fold it into the melted milk chocolate until fully combined.
  5. For the white chocolate mousse, melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water. Stir until smooth, then let cool.
  6. In a bowl, whip the last cup of heavy cream to soft peaks, and fold it into the melted white chocolate until mixed.
  7. In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add the sugar while continuing to beat, until you achieve stiff peaks.
  8. Carefully fold the beaten egg whites into each of the chocolate mixtures one at a time—dark chocolate, then milk chocolate, and finally white chocolate. Be gentle to maintain the airy texture.
  9. Begin layering the mousses into cups by starting with the dark chocolate layer at the bottom, followed by milk chocolate, and finally topped with white chocolate.
  10. Once all layers are in the cups, chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the mousses to set.

Notes

Store leftover mousse cups in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Best enjoyed fresh for optimal texture.
