Description

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions into rings and separate them.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip onion rings into the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Plunge the flour-coated rings into the buttermilk.
  5. Dip them into the flour mixture again for a second coat.
  6. Once coated, dip them into the breadcrumbs.
  7. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  9. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Notes

Make sure the oil is hot enough to avoid soggy rings. Fry in batches for even cooking.
