Description

Deliciously soft and chewy chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Creaming the Butters & Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer, beat on medium speed until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Adding Vanilla & Eggs: Next, add the vanilla extract and eggs into the butter-sugar mixture. Continue to mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Combining Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  4. Folding in Chocolate Chips: With a spatula, gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Prepping for Baking: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  6. Portioning the Dough: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each cookie for them to spread.
  7. Baking the Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers look soft. Keep an eye on them; the time will vary based on your oven.
  8. Cooling the Cookies: Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. This helps them maintain their soft texture!
