Description

A rich and flavorful dish made with tender lamb simmered in a spicy sauce, perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 500g lamb, diced
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  2. Add the chopped onions and cook until golden brown.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the lamb pieces to the pan, browning them on all sides.
  5. Mix in the chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, turmeric, and green chilies.
  6. Cover the pan and let the lamb simmer for about 30-40 minutes.
  7. Once the lamb is tender, stir in the garam masala and salt.
  8. Cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the spices to meld.
  9. Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the lamb in yogurt and spices for a few hours before cooking.
