Description

A comforting dish of tender chicken enveloped in creamy orzo, perfect for intimate dinners and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then add them to the pot. Cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the orzo and chicken broth, bringing it to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes until the orzo is cooked.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Return the chicken to the pot and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add sun-dried tomatoes or spinach for added flavor and nutrition. This dish also pairs well with a light white wine.
