- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites and cream of tartar until soft peaks begin to form.
- Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, continuing to beat until stiff peaks form.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt gently.
- Spoon or pipe the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until dry to the touch.
- Allow to cool completely before serving.
