Description

A delightful Middle Eastern Lamb Tart filled with spiced ground lamb and wrapped in flaky puff pastry, topped with Greek yogurt and parsley.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the finely chopped onion and minced garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground lamb along with cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned, about 8-10 minutes.
  4. Roll out the sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to fit your baking sheet.
  5. Transfer the rolled pastry onto a baking sheet and spread the lamb mixture over it, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
  7. Serve warm, topped with Greek yogurt and fresh parsley.

Notes

For added spice, consider incorporating cayenne or red pepper flakes into the lamb mixture. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
