Description
A delightful twist on a classic appetizer, these deviled eggs feature a creamy yolk filling enhanced with crispy bacon and a hint of tanginess from apple cider vinegar.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large eggs
- 4 strips of bacon
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped chives for garnish
- Paprika for garnish
Instructions
- Place eggs in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover and remove from heat. Let them sit for 12 minutes. When done, drain and cool the eggs in ice water.
- While the eggs cool, heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy. Once fully cooked, remove it from the pan and crumble it into pieces.
- Peel the cooled eggs and slice them in half lengthwise. Gently remove the yolks and place them in a mixing bowl.
- Mash the yolks with a fork and mix in the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until the mixture is smooth.
- Fold in the crumbled bacon, but reserve some for garnish.
- Using a spoon or piping bag, carefully fill the halved egg whites with the yolk mixture.
- Garnish the filled eggs with the remaining crumbled bacon, chopped chives, and a dusting of paprika before serving.
Notes
To keep the bacon crispy, add it just before serving. You can customize the flavor with spices or different garnishes.
