Description

A savory and flavorful noodle dish with ground beef, garlic, and a rich sauce, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and set it aside.
  2. Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Drain any excess fat for a cleaner sauce.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic in the skillet for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Combine the brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if desired). Mix well.
  5. Thicken the sauce by mixing cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then pour into the skillet, stirring until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Toss the cooked linguine in the skillet to coat in the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef. Feel free to add vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas.
