Description

A rich, velvety dip made from roasted red peppers and walnuts, served with crispy spiced bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted red peppers
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (for spiced bread)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano (for spiced bread)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for spiced bread)

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine roasted red peppers, walnuts, breadcrumbs, pomegranate molasses, garlic, cumin, paprika, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  2. Drizzle with olive oil and mix well until everything is combined and creamy.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. In a bowl, mix chili flakes, oregano, and garlic powder with a little olive oil to create a flavorful paste.
  5. Brush the spice mixture onto each slice of bread, ensuring an even coating.
  6. Place the prepared slices on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and golden.
  7. Serve the Muhammara alongside the warm spiced bread for dipping and enjoy!

Notes

For richer flavor, toast walnuts beforehand. Adjust spices according to taste.
