  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1/2 cup beet powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter and warm water in a large bowl, stirring gently.
  2. Gradually add the bread flour and beet powder until a dough forms.
  3. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes (autolyse).
  4. Add salt and knead the dough for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 4-6 hours or until doubled.
  6. Gently deflate the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  7. Let it rise again for 1-2 hours, covered with a kitchen towel.
  8. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and hollow-sounding when tapped.
  10. Let the bread cool completely before slicing.
