Description

A refreshing and simple dish featuring white fish fillets seasoned with lemon zest and freshly cracked black pepper, perfect for busy weeknights or a charming dinner with friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, haddock, or snapper)
  • 2 medium-sized lemons (zest and juice)
  • 2 tablespoons freshly cracked black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (or olive oil)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley (or 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fish: Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and lay them on a clean cutting board.
  2. Zest and Juice the Lemons: Wash the lemons, zest them, and juice them to get about 1/4 to 1/3 cup of juice.
  3. Make the Lemon Pepper Seasoning: In a small bowl, combine black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley.
  4. Season the Fish: Sprinkle the seasoning mixture on both sides of the fish fillets and press it in gently.
  5. Melt the Butter: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter (or heat olive oil).
  6. Cook the Fish: Place the seasoned fish fillets in the skillet, pour lemon juice over them, and cook for 3-5 minutes per side.
  7. Serve Immediately: Remove from the skillet and garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

Pair with a crisp salad or sautéed vegetables. Adjust seasoning to taste and use sustainably sourced fish when possible.
