Description

A moist, fluffy cake layered with rich buttery frosting and drizzled with divine salted caramel sauce, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 cup butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Creaming together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  6. Transfer the cakes to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  8. Beat the softened butter until creamy, add powdered sugar gradually, and mix until fluffy. Adjust consistency with milk.
  9. Start with one layer on a serving plate, spreading caramel buttercream on top and drizzling with salted caramel sauce.
  10. Place the second layer on top and frost the entire cake. Drizzle more salted caramel on top for decoration.

Notes

For best results, use room temperature ingredients and allow the cakes to fully cool before frosting.
