Description

A rich and creamy seafood bisque featuring crab, shrimp, and lobster, perfect for cozy dinners or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb lump crab meat
  • 1/2 lb lobster meat, chopped
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups seafood or chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine (optional)
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the aromatics by melting the butter over medium heat, then adding the chopped onion and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  2. Create the roux by stirring in the flour and cooking for 1-2 minutes while stirring constantly.
  3. Pour in the seafood or chicken broth and white wine (if using), stirring continuously until thickened to a creamy consistency.
  4. Add the heavy cream, Old Bay seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Incorporate the shrimp, crab, and lobster meat, and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm with crusty bread.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute half the butter with olive oil. Fresh or frozen seafood can be used, just ensure it’s thawed and drained if frozen. Blend for a creamier texture by blending half of the bisque before adding seafood.
