- 2 large ripe bananas, peeled, sliced, and frozen
- 2 to 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 to 1 ½ cups milk of choice (whole, 2%, skim, or non-dairy)
- 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Pour the milk of choice into the bottom of your blender.
- Add in your frozen banana slices, followed by the cocoa powder, sweetener, and vanilla extract.
- Blend the mixture at low speed, gradually increasing to high, for about 45 to 60 seconds until smooth.
- Taste your smoothie and adjust sweetness or chocolate as desired.
- Serve in a tall glass and enjoy immediately.
Notes
For the best texture, use perfectly ripe bananas. You can also add a handful of spinach or a scoop of protein powder for extra nutrition.
