Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 cup Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (or Tamari)
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Grated Fresh Ginger
  • 1 Clove Garlic, Minced
  • Optional Garnishes: Toasted sesame seeds, finely chopped fresh cilantro, or green onions

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with foil, placing a wire rack on top.
  2. Dry and Season the Wings: Pat each wing dry with paper towels, then combine with cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a large bowl.
  3. Arrange for Baking: Place the seasoned wings on the wire rack in a single layer, ensuring space between each wing.
  4. Bake for Crispiness: Bake for 45-50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Prepare the Sweet Chili Glaze: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Glaze the Wings: Toss the hot wings with three-quarters of the warm glaze in a large bowl.
  7. Return for Second Bake: Bake the glazed wings for an additional 5-7 minutes to set the glaze.
  8. Serve and Garnish: Transfer wings to a platter, drizzle with remaining glaze, and garnish with sesame seeds and herbs.

Notes

To ensure crispy skin, make sure the wings are thoroughly dried before seasoning.
