- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 sub rolls
- Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl and mix well.
- Shape the meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 6-8 minutes.
- Add marinara sauce to the skillet and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Place sub rolls on a baking sheet and fill with meatballs and sauce, topping each with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the oven until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10-15 minutes.
- Serve hot with napkins on the side.
Notes
Don’t overmix the meatball mixture for better texture. For extra flavor, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.
