Description

Savory meatball subs packed with flavor, rich marinara, and melty cheese for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper in a large bowl and mix well.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides for about 6-8 minutes.
  5. Add marinara sauce to the skillet and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  6. Place sub rolls on a baking sheet and fill with meatballs and sauce, topping each with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 10-15 minutes.
  8. Serve hot with napkins on the side.

Notes

Don’t overmix the meatball mixture for better texture. For extra flavor, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.
