Description

A nostalgic recipe for thick, chewy chocolate chip cookies that are crispy on the edges and gooey in the center.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Whisk the flour and baking soda together in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until well combined.
  5. Blend in the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Fold in the milk chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Ensure butter is softened but not melted for best texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
