Description

Delightful bars with a rich buttery base, vibrant Valentine M&Ms, and melting chocolate chips, perfect for sharing on Valentine’s Day.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Valentine’s M&M candies
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in the M&M candies and chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting and serving.

Notes

For a nutty flavor, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans. You can also use other candies instead of M&Ms.
