A delightful sweet and salty snack that combines the crunch of Chex cereal, pretzels, and nuts, coated in a caramelized toffee mixture.

- 6 cups Chex cereal (rice, corn, or a mix)
- 1 cup pretzels
- 1 cup nuts (your choice)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix together the Chex cereal, pretzels, and nuts.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and baking soda.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the Chex mixture, stirring gently to coat every single piece.
- Spread the mixture onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from the oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet.
- If desired, stir in chocolate chips after cooling.
Notes
Store any leftover Toffee Chex Mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. For a sweet and spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne to the mixture.
